Our capoeira class for kids age 3-5 and 6-12 will teach the fundamental movements, music, discipline, and history of capoeira in a fun and engaging setting. Kids age 6-12 take this knowledge to the next level with more advanced movements and concepts. Capoeira Brasil Calgary prides itself on high-quality instruction from experienced teachers and building the Capoeira community in a positive environment.

Capoeira Brasil Calgary welcomes you to our fifth Festival & Batizado Graduation May 28 - 31 2026. This event includes kids & adult workshops with visiting teachers, rodas, graduation ceremony and so much more! The Batizado is the ‘baptism’ or initiation into Capoeira for new students which is combined with the Troca de Cordas ceremony where dedicated students gain their next belt level. Mestres and teachers from around the world will be coming to Calgary to put on an event you won’t soon forget! We look forward to expanding our knowledge of Capoeira through various workshops, rodas, and music classes. We hope you can make it and together we can grow the Capoeira community in Calgary.

This event always signifies the first outdoor performance of the year and it’s been something we look forward to taking part in year after year (for the past 20 years or so 👀). Thank you @lilacfestyyc for having us! And thank you to all the students for giving your energy and training all year so we can share a little about capoeira with the community 🇧🇷 💜

Cheer on your community! The students of Capoeira Brasil Calgary have been training hard all year and have all help put on a great show to demonstrate their training of capoeira, as well as some special music and dance performances.
All proceeds go to supporting our local Capoeira group so we can continue to teach and grow our regular classes, put on special events, expand the group, and work toward building a bigger and better Capoeira community in a positive environment.
